Self-Archiving Policy

The American Occupational Therapy Association holds the copyright to all articles and other content published in AJOT. Authors, however, may self-archive their accepted manuscripts to satisfy funder and institutional requirements by depositing a prepublication manuscript of their article in their own institutional repository. Deposited manuscripts should include a citation to the AJOT issue in which the manuscript is or will be published, including the DOI, if available.

Authors who want to promote their research in online venues other than their institutional repository may share or post the abstract with a link to the published AJOT article. To reprint all or part of a final, published AJOT article, permission must be obtained from the Copyright Clearance Center.

AJOT is indexed in PubMed, and articles reporting on research funded by U.S. government grants are deposited into PubMed Central after publication.
